Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters. This policy explains what information Byte Trendz collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Last updated: May 28, 2026

1. Who we are

Byte Trendz (“Byte Trendz”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the website https://bytetrendz.com. We are an independent digital publication based in India that covers AI tools, technology, online business, productivity, and internet culture. This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through our website and related services.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you provide

  • Contact details — when you email us, comment, or contact us through a form, we receive the information you submit (name, email, message contents).
  • Newsletter subscriptions — if you subscribe to updates, we store your email address until you unsubscribe.
  • Account information — staff and contributors create accounts to publish content; we store their email and role.

2.2 Information collected automatically

  • Log data — IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring URLs, pages visited, and timestamps.
  • Cookies and similar technologies — used for analytics, advertising, and remembering preferences. See Section 5.
  • Analytics — aggregated usage statistics through services such as Google Analytics and our hosting provider's analytics.

3. How we use information

  • To operate, maintain, and improve the website.
  • To respond to your inquiries and provide customer support.
  • To send newsletters and editorial updates you have opted into.
  • To detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, or abuse.
  • To measure content performance and serve relevant advertising.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

4. Legal bases (GDPR)

Where the General Data Protection Regulation applies, we rely on the following legal bases: consent (for marketing emails and non-essential cookies), legitimate interests (to secure the site, prevent abuse, and measure aggregate performance), contract (where you sign up for an account or service), and legal obligation (where required by law).

5. Cookies and tracking

Byte Trendz and our partners use cookies and similar technologies. Categories used:

  • Strictly necessary — required for the site to function (e.g. session, security).
  • Analytics — to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it.
  • Advertising — to display ads that are more relevant to you and measure ad performance.

You can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may break parts of the site.

6. Advertising and Google AdSense

We may use Google AdSense and other ad networks to display ads. These partners (including Google as a third-party vendor) use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our sites and other sites on the Internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or www.aboutads.info.

7. Third-party services

We work with carefully selected service providers, including:

  • Hosting & database — Lovable Cloud and Supabase, used to host the site and store editorial content.
  • Analytics — Google Analytics and platform analytics for aggregated traffic measurement.
  • Advertising — Google AdSense and any successor ad networks we adopt.
  • Email — transactional email providers used to deliver responses and newsletters.

Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy and our data processing agreements.

8. Data sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share information only with the service providers above, when required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Byte Trendz, our users, or the public.

9. Data retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to provide the services and for legitimate business or legal purposes. Analytics logs are typically retained for up to 26 months. Newsletter records are kept until you unsubscribe.

10. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request correction or deletion of your data.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent at any time.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

California residents have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know and the right to delete. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@bytetrendz.com.

11. Children's privacy

Byte Trendz is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. International transfers

We are based in India and may transfer data to other countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

13. Security

We use industry-standard measures including HTTPS, encrypted database storage, access controls, and least-privilege permissions. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, announced on the site.
